Just Keep Swimming!

Hello Friends!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!!!

I wanted to share a cute quick project I made today while I was playing around in my craft room! Once again I used my Favoritest {that is how my 6 year old says it} stamp set EVER!! K Andrews Splashtastic Summer!! If you haven't had a chance to see all the cute sentiments in this set you can check it out along with her other stamps HERE.

Ok so now on to my card! I made this little card for my best friends dad who needed a cute and funny pick me up! He has had a lot of ill health for the last 2 years including a stroke, he is a retired fire fighter and has gotten very depressed over all the things he used to do that he can't anymore. He is the sweetest man you would ever want to meet so loving and kind! Since he LOVES his little goldfish that his daughter {my best friend Ashley} bought him I thought this would be perfect!

I know the pic looks kinda blurry but it really isn't I used Vellum in front of the fish to make it look like it was inside the bowl! I have had the vellum forever and this is the first time I have used it!
I was a little tricky but I like the way it came out! The sentiment was perfect for the card!

Materials used:
  • Create a critter cartridge
  • K Andrews Splashtastic summer set
  • PK medium critter faces
  • i rock

Scrapbookaholic by Abby Challenge #8 Red, White and Blue!

Good morning everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!

 It's defenitley summer here it was so hot here in San Antonio that we didn't even go outside all weekend we stayed in and played with our WII and PS3 lol. One thing when you think of summer is Fourth of July fireworks and RED, WHITE & BLUE,at least that is what I think of {but there will be no fireworks here this year cause of the drout :(}

This week over at Scrapbookaholic By Abby we are having a Red, White and Blue Challenge! You can make ANY project with ANY theme as long as it has those 3 colors! Easy Peasy right! So get out your Cricuts, Gyspy's, stamps and of course paper and get creating! I can't wait to see what you all make!!

For my project today I made this cute card that features my FAVORITE things I used during summer, MY FLIP FLOPS and there is a stamp from K Andrew's Splashtastic summer I just HAD to use!! Oh how I love them lol!! I went to Walmart last week and saw some cute patriotic ones and that is what I thought about when I made this!
Aren't those Faces aborable!! They go perfectly with the sentiments!
I could not find paper I wanted for the flip flops that I wanted sooo.
I used white cardstock and with Amy Chomas pens I put the blue stars!

The way I did this was on my gypsy I picked out my  flip flops then got a star from the george cart and made it the size I wanted it then I duplicated it and placed it around the flip flop cut. BEFORE I clicked cut, using the hide contour I took out the flip flops from the cut leaving only the stars. Put the pen in and Viola stars! Then I went back took off the stars unhide the flip flops and cut them out, perfect! I really loved the way it came out!!

but in order to win you have to comment on all the blogs, she will be picking 3 people from each blog and putting them in a pile and choosing the winner from there!

Ok so on to my project!! I am really proud of this because not only is it an invitation for my one and only niece Tabitha's  2nd birthday, but it was my first attempt at making an explosion box!! Get ready for lots of pics lol!! Here we go!

This is the front of the box, she wanted very bright and summery colors but that are girly LOL she is so picky! I added a bottle cap to the tag with Beach Party image on it! The sentiment is from the Splashtastic Summer stamp set by K Andrew! It went perfectly!
This is a side view of the box the blue Hibiscus flowers are on 3 sides of the box, I measured the ribbon to fit snugly on the box and hot glued it together then added the bow on top so that the whole thing is removable and did not have to be retied after opening.
Here is the box without the ribbon, I used pop dots on
the flowers to give it more dimension
Ok now to the best part!! The open box! I wanted to use the cute
Cheeky Beach stamp I just got from The Greeting Farm since she fit in with the theme! I also have all the flowers on pop dots I wanted them to stand out and I think that did it!
Close up of that cutie!!
I did the wording on my computer then printed it out on some cuts I made with my cricut {it took a few tries to get them just right! Notice how the color of the words match the paper, well I used some RGB codes that I had printed to use with my imagine to match the colors. The Aloha is also a stamp from the Splashtastic summer stamp set!
This is the middle layer I put the blue Hibiscus on all four sides
That is a close up of the Pink Hibiscus on the top layer of the invitation! I am using yet another stamp from the Splashtastic Summer set here! I added stitching everywhere LOL, it seemed so naked with out it! It took some time but I love how it came out!
'

Whew! I told you there were a lot of pics!! I am very happy with the way this turned out and I can't wait til my sister sees it! I have to make 20 of these little suckers for her party but I know I will have lots of fun doing it!!
