For today I made a special card for the Peachy Family!! Thank you all so much for having me and for giving us these great stamps that give our projects life!! I remember the first time I saw Peachy keen face stamps, I watcged a video with Ms. Heidi showing how to stamp the faces on paper dolls, that was all it took I was in love lol and soon I got my first set which is my favorite {princess face assortment}. Next to my cricut these stamps are my favorite scrapping tools {look at my blog on the desk you will see}.

I like to take cuts and make them a little different than they were meant to be, I took the little girl holding the cat from the playtime cartridge and cut out the cat and added the Peachy Keen Peach in her hands. The peach is from the insert that comes with the stamps I made a copy and cut it out.

Here is a close up of the little girl

This definitely was a challenge for me I was like mono what lol! I finally figured it out and had so much fun making this card for my Hubby!
Well this card is funny because he HATES peas, but when I was pregnant with our first baby I was craving peas like noone's business!  He had no choice but to eat them or starve {haha}so now when I make them he always reminds me that he ate enough peas to last him a life time those nine months!

Peachy Keen Guest Designer Day 1

Good morning everyone!
I have been very busy in my craftroom Peachifying, do you know why? Well it is because I am the guest designer this week for Peachy Keen stamps!! I am beyond thirlled that I will get to share some of my projects with all of you!

Well since Valentine's Day is right around the corner I decided for my first project I would make a cute little card to send to my sweet baby sister!

Isn't the penguin the cutest thing ever!!

Materials used for this sweet little card:
  • Holly Jolly Lite Cartridge {penguin was cut at 2.5 inches}
  • George Cartridge {hearts cut at .5 in} & {card base was cut out at 4.5 inches}
  • Sweet face was stamped with {PK Happy Lashes Face assortment}
  • Tria markers to color in the beak and feet
  • I used my jelly roll pen for all the stitching
  • Paper is from K&Company Valentine paper stack
Now for the sentiment I could not find a stamp that had what I wanted to say so I made my own!  I used microsoft word and wrote out the sentiment and printed it out. To add it to the paper on my card , {the polka dot paper} I held it up to the light and used doulbe sided tape to adhere it to the priner paper where I wanted the sentement and ran in back through the printer and Viola lol!!

Oh I almost forgot to mention PKS was so generous to give me a little something to give away during my guest spot!

All you have to do win is:
  •  Leave a comment here
  •  Also leave a comment on my post on the PKS blog

Thank you for joining me today don't forget to stop by tomorrow for day 2 of my Peachy Keen week!

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a great start to your Friday morning!! Speaking of Friday are you ready for another Flaunt it Friday Challenge?!

This week we are flaunting the really cute Give a Hoot Cartridge and the choice cut is the Bear in the trash can on page 61 ! OMG I had to have this one when it first came out but I think I only used it a few times, how sad lol! I am so glad I was able to pull it out again because it has some really cute cuts on it!

Here is my project:

It is a paper scraps box, to recycle ( yeah it had to match my scrap room and blog lol)

Materials used:

  • Give a hoot cartridge
  • Plantin School book cartridge ( your scraps)
  • Kate’s Kitchen Imagine cartridge for all the patterned paper
  • Imagine
  • medium sized cardboard box
  • brown paper roll ( to wrap around the box)
  • Mod podge

Let me just tell you this took more Mod Podge than I have ever used on anything before whew!!

**If you are looking for the Dia de Reyes Blog Hop click here.**

Hello everyone welcome to the Flaunt  it Friday’s Blog hop. If you came here from Rose's blog then you are in the right spot. If you just stumbled upon my blog and want to start from the beginning from the Flaunt it Fridays blog, you really don’t want to miss one stop there are so many amazing projects and great blog candy along the way!

There is also a grand prize which was graciously sponsored by Pink by design; one of her brand new stamp sets Love Always ( I really want this set lol). In order to qualify for the grand prize you must leave a comment on everyone’s blog to have a chance to win! I will also be giving away some blog candy, but not sure what yet ( sorry didn’t get to go shopping), but I will be heading out to Michaels in the morning and I will pick something up and I will post the winner on Tuesday January 11th so be sure to stop back and check if you were my winner!

Ok now for my project: For this week's challenge we were asked to flaunt the Hello Kitty with Airplane on Page 65 from the Hello Kitty Greetings Cart, but I do not have this cart so I really had to get creative and this is what I came up with.

A post it note holderHELLOKITTYMaterials used:

  • Imagine more cartridge (used it for the patterned paper and to color in my cuts)
  • Create a Critter Cartridge ( for the kitty and clouds) I was amazed at how much it looks like Hello Kitty!
  • B is for boy ( for the plane, but I had to alter the plane a bit)
  • mini post it notes
  • plastic frame from Walmart (it was only $1.00)
  • sentiment is from TPS Studio’s Hugs and Kisses stamp set (from Michaels)
  • white gel pen
  • memento red ink pad

This was super easy and makes a really nice gift.

Now for my second project we got to choose any cut from the Hello Kitty Greetings, there is a really cute cut of a strawberry but since I don’t have the cartridge I chose a similar cut from another cartridge which is the strawberry from  the imagine more cartridge. For this project I decided to make a mini journal with a matching pen for my daughter Ashley who just started her own blog and she says she gets ideas for cards and writes them down on what ever paper she has lying around and sometimes they get thrown away; now she has a place to keep all of her ideas.

hellokittybloghop2

Isn’t it super sweet? I really love making these they are fun and cute and once I get going I can spend the whole day making them hehe!

3-email the phrase to scrapabookaholic at hotmail dot com
4-(DO NOT enter the phrase on the comment- email it to scrapabookaholic@hotmail.com)

When Gaby asked me to be a part of this hop I was excited and a little nervous because this day means a great deal to her and I did not want to dissapoint her. I really do not know much about this holiday , my family doesn’t celebrate it, so I did some research and I am so glad I did! Here is a little bit of what I found..

On January 6,  celebrates El Dia De Reyes, the Epiphany, remembering the day when the Three Wise Men following the star to Bethlehem, arrived bearing their treasured gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh for the Baby Jesus.

On the night, of January 5, the figurines of the Three Wise Men are added to the nativity scene. Before going to bed the children place their old shoes under their bed or in the living room, where the Wise Men will leave them their presents.  Some also place outside the house, some hay and a bucket with water for the animals, and even some cookies and milk for Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar. The next morning the children awaken  and find the gifts that the  Three Magi left for them.  They have a feast with family and friends, one of the foods served during this feast is  Rosca de Reyes which is  an oval sweetbread, decorated with candied fruit.  There are Roscas of all sizes, very small ones for two or three people and up to the ones that will delight more that twenty people.

I became so excited about this wonderful tradition I decided to make Rosca de Reyes! Oh and it really was a challenge lol! Lets just say the smell of burning bread isn’t the easiest smell to get out of the house, not even febreeze helps haha! I tried a few times and finally was able to get it!! I got to take this quick picture before hubby ate it! (Please don’t laugh it is kinda crooked)

roscon-reyes-3Here is the Recipe:

Ingredients:
  • 1/3 cup warm water
  • 1 packet of yeast
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon anise seed
  • 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • A small figurine or toy
  • Candied Fruit (about 2 cups of assorted fruit such as figs, orange, lemon, mango or cherries)
  • 1 egg beaten (egg wash)
  • 1/3 cup sugar (topping)

Prep:

Sprinkle the yeast on the surface of the water and let it sit for 10 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast water, flour, sugar, eggs, butter, salt, cinnamon, anise seed and vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough for 5 minutes, then cover and let rise in a warm area until dough is doubled in size, about 2 hours.

Punch dough down and shape into a wreath ( try not to make it crooked like mine lol), by rolling it into a log shape then bending the ends around to form a circle, or you can make two thinner strips and braid them, then put the ends together.  Smooth out any lumps or tears.

Add the dried fruit by laying it across the top and pressing it in slightly. Let it rise until doubled. Brush top with egg wash, sprinkle with sugar and bake for approximatley 45 minutes at 350 degrees. I left it for 45 minutes the first time and burned it haha so just watch it once it hits around 30 minutes.

Ok now on to my craft project..

I had to make this one really fast cause just as I was finishing my card I decided to clean the table so I can take pictures and I dropped my Big Red all over the table! I ruined some paper and one of my cartridge booklets and worst of all my card! magos

I hope you are enjoying yourself now time to hop over to the next blog which is Melin over at cooking with cricut you know she has something amazing!

Exploring Walk in my Garden Cartridge with Kassidy

This week over at inking it up crazy Kassidy has asked her Design Team to send her a list of our cartridges and assigned all of us a day and an older cartridge to explore. Today is my day and my cartridge is Walk in my Garden. I was kind of scared when she asked me to use this cartridge since I have never really used it just once,  but once I started playing with it I discovered I really liked it! I am also entering this card into the  Wacky Wednesday Challenge it is a color challenge using my two favorite colors!!

Here is the card I made…

I was pretty excited cause not only did I use a cartridge I never play with but all the paper you see here was created using my new imagine!! I love it! It usually takes me longer to pick out the paper  I want to use than to actually cut the images out and  put the card together and I never seem to find the right colors I am looking for. This time I just plugged the cartridge in and using some RGB codes I found online I was able to color in all my images print them and cut them all at once, it made it so much easier and definitely something I will doing a lot more often!

Materials I used:

  • Walk in my Garden Cartridge
  • Imagine more cartridge for the printed paper
  • White cardstock
  • Red and White gel pen
  • Sentiment is from TPS Studio’s Hugs and Kisses stamp set (from Michaels)

I am really in love with this card it is one of my favorites and hmm I might not give this one away lol!! I also want to thank everyone who has became a follower of my daughter Ashley’s blog and left such sweet comments. She was overjoyed when she saw she had followers and comments! She has been a little down lately since she had a seizure two weeks ago out of no where while we were at the post office. It was very traumatic for her and me, but she is doing better now and the doctor is running some tests so soon we will know what the cause was. I made her the blog to keep her mind off of it ( she has been worried) so thank you thank you for your support!

Have a great day!
